Privacy Policy

Nit Flow turns speech into text and into structured notes. This policy explains what the extension handles, where it goes, and what is kept.

What we process

• Microphone audio — recorded only while you actively dictate, in short segments, and only after you grant microphone permission.
• Audio from the current browser tab — captured only while you have explicitly started a meeting recording, and only from that tab.
• Transcripts and generated notes — the text produced from your audio, including titles, summaries, tags and action items.
• The address and title of the page where a note was dictated, saved alongside that note so you can find its origin.
• Your settings — interface language, activation shortcut, server address, microphone state.

What we do not process

• We do not read, collect or transmit the content of the pages you visit. The extension tracks only which input field currently has the cursor, so dictated text can be inserted there.
• There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking across sites, and no profiling.
• We do not sell your data.

Where your audio goes

Recorded audio is sent over HTTPS to the Nit Flow server at https://nit.isessions.ru. The server turns it into text and structured notes, then discards the audio. Nothing is written to disk and request bodies are not logged.

What is stored, and for how long

• On the Nit Flow server: nothing is stored. Audio is held in memory only for the duration of the request and is discarded once the response is returned.
• In your browser: generated notes, sticky notes, the island’s position and your settings are saved locally through the browser’s extension storage. They stay on your device until you delete them or remove the extension.
• Error diagnostics on the server record the fact and type of a failure, never the audio or the text.

Your controls

• Delete any note from the extension’s Notes page; removing the extension deletes everything it stored locally.
• Revoke microphone access at any time in your browser’s site settings.
• Point the extension at your own server in its settings, so audio never reaches ours.

Permissions and why they exist

• activeTab, scripting and access to pages — to insert dictated text into the field you selected and to show the floating island.
• tabCapture — to record the audio of a meeting tab, only when you start it.
• offscreen — to run the microphone recorder in the background.
• contentSettings — to pre-allow the microphone for the extension itself, so recording does not fail silently.
• storage — to keep your notes and settings on your device.

Children

Nit Flow is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly process their data.
